Our Herd Name:Susurrare Salix is our herd name. This translates from Latin to Whispering Willow. The Willow was a surprise birthday gift from my husband the first year we lived here in Calhoun, TN. If you've ever been near a Weeping Willow, you'll hear the branches whispering, as though they have wonderful secrets to share...

About Us:I am Tara Tickel. My husband and I are the owners here at Susurrare Salix (Whispering Willow). I am a homemaker, Home Educator, and mother of seven beautiful children (Oliver, Deuce, Mary, John, Grace, Rachael, & Joy). I am also in charge of breeding, feeding, and all decisions that regard our herd of Nigerian Dwarf Goats.

Here at Susurrare Salix (Whispering Willow), we strive for friendly, healthy goats with correct conformation as well as a highly productive, well attached, easily milked udder. Our goal is to improve upon our does with selective breeding. If we do our job properly, each generation will be better than the one that proceeded it. As a result, we don't breed for specific "pretty" characteristics (like blue eyes, polled, or for flashy kids), but rather for kids that have a chance of being more correctly within the breed standard, or more productive, than their dam or grandam.
