First off. I am a strong believer in Honesty is the Best Policy. I will never hide facts about a goat. I will list all reasons for selling and will inform you of any risks associated with each animal I sell (examples: history of kidding complications, uneven udder, overheight animals that are within 4 generations). I hope I do not come across as abrasive or brutally honest, but I would rather any buyers know of any potential problems before they decide to purchase an animal.
Our Sales Agreement ~ by sending a deposit or placing a reservation on an animal, you indicate that you are in agreement with these terms:
Reservations: I maintain a Private Reservation List. A reservation is not a commitment to purchase, nor does a reservation guarantee that a buyer will have "dibs" on a particular kid from a particular breeding. When the doe kids, I will determine which kid(s), if any, are to be retained, after which I will offer available kids to applicable reservation(s). The potential buyer(s) will be given the option to purchase the available kid(s) if I feel that the placement is a good fit for both the animal and the buyer. The first reservation does not necessarily get the first choice of the available kid(s) - as there are several considerations that will be brought to bear on placing animals with buyers (for instance, DHIA, LA, or Show Farms will have precedence over a need for a family milker -- this change will take place starting January 1st, 2015). If offered a kid via a reservation, the potential buyer will have 24 hours to make their choice (if applicable) and send a nonrefundable deposit of half the purchase price. If the potential buyer chooses not to purchase the kid, it will then be offered to the next reservation, or to the general public. If it is the buyer's intention to purchase one animal, and would like to place a reservation on multiple breedings so that they have a better chance of obtaining a kid, I will allow up to 3 reservations for the purchase of a single kid. Our kids tend to sell rather quickly, therefore, if the buyer chooses not to purchase the first available kid that has been reserved, they will usually not have the opportunity to "change their mind" when a kid does not become available from the later reservation(s). To place a reservation, please send an email to [email protected] or message me on our Facebook Farm Page.
We reserve the right to refuse reservations, or to negate reservations, at any time and for any reason.
Purchase of animals available For Sale from our farm: A nonrefundable deposit of half the purchase price is required within 24 hours from the Date Of Request (the date the buyer requests that the animal be placed on Sale Pending Status). The deposit will "hold" a kid until weaning (or an adult for 2 weeks - 14 days), at which point the entire remaining balance will be due. If the animal is not paid in full and transported (left the farm) one week following weaning, the animal will be re-listed for sale and the deposit will be forfeit. If the buyer requests and makes arrangements at least 2 weeks in advance of the deadline, more time can be given to arrange for transport. If the animal becomes unavailable, then all payments will be refunded (or transferred toward the purchase of a different goat at the request of the buyer). I am willing to have any animal over 12 months old tested for disease at the request and expense of the buyer.
All charges, vet fees for health certificates, additional requested testing, and transportation costs are the responsibility of the buyer. If the buyer is using a transporter, they must pay the transporter directly (I will make no payments to the transporter). All animals, health certificates, and other requested testing must be Paid In Full before leaving the farm. I accept cash, certified checks, money orders, VenMo, & PayPal (including Credit Cards through PayPal). All payments not made in cash or sent via PayPal MUST clear the bank before the animal will be allowed to leave the farm. If the buyer is completing payment at pick-up or transport, then the final payment must be made in cash.
All goats will be tattooed & disbudded (exception: polled goats) prior to leaving the farm.
We retain the right to keep any animal, or to negate the sale of an animal, up to and including the moment of transport.
If we choose to negate a sale (before the deadline for the transport requirement), all payments will be refunded. If you purchase one of our Susurrare Salix kids, and later sell him or her, please let me know as we like to keep track of our kids.
Registration Paperwork: I will not sell you a breeding animal that you can not register (exception, does or bucks sold as unregistered pets ~ always clearly indicated on the For Sale Page). Any breeding animal purchased here will be immediately register-able in your name. Upon request, I can also provide a synopsis of the current medical record for each animal (from birth for kids, 1 year for adults) and a copy of the most recent testing done for the entire herd.
If you purchase a doe that was listed as FOR SALE AFTER KIDDING AND WEANING, then you will be able to pick her up (or arrange for transport) after she kids and weans her kids (if she is dam raising). In this case, the kids remain the property of Susurrare Salix Farm. If you wish to purchase one or more of her kids, please let me know and I will put you on the waiting list.
If you purchase a doe that is listed as a BRED DOE, you will be required to pick her up as per the sales agreement, and the kids belong to you (you will receive a service memo for the breeding). If however, you purchase a BRED DOE, fail to pay for or transport within the sales agreement, and she kids HERE, then the kids remain the property of Susurrare Salix Farm and you will be refunded any service memo fees (if applicable). A doe sold as a BRED DOE will have received a positive pregnancy test through Biotracking, or a positive ultrasound by a Veterinarian, therefore, no refunds will be given if she aborts, miscarries, or the kids fail to survive.
If you purchase a doe listed as EXPOSED, then this means she has "gone on a date" with a buck, and that a breeding was witnessed. EXPOSED does not mean PREGNANT. I will not "Hold" a doe sold as "Exposed" for pregnancy testing or for another round with the buck. An exposed doe is sold with the full understanding that she may, or may not, be bred.
Breeding:
Our bucks are not available for outside breeding services.
Help/Mentor:
When you purchase a goat or goats from us, I am available to you. Anytime. Day or night, rain or shine, sleet, snow, or 100 degrees. If you have a question, need training in hoof trimming, disbudding, or just need to talk goat, give me a yell via text, email, or facebook, or phone (please only call for emergencies)- whatever works best for you. I am available at ANY time for ANY reason to help you. If I don't know the answer, I'll do everything in my power to find it.
Guarantees:
I guarantee that any Susurrare Salix breeding doe or buck with be free of disqualifying defects at the time of sale (unless said fault was disclosed prior to the sale). I guarantee that any Susurrare Salix doe or buck purchased for breeding will be fertile - a refund or exchange will be given if shown proof via a veterinary certification that a breeding animal is infertile and that said animal has received adequate care (if the animal has kidded, was pregnant, or settled a doe since it was purchased from our farm, then the animal was fertile at the time of sale, and no refund or exchanges will be given). If a refund or replacement is given, all Registration paperwork on the original animal must be signed over to us, and - at our request- the animal must be available to be returned to us at our expense. I guarantee that all animals leaving our farm are healthy- including but not limited to: up to date Copper Bolus (if applicable), received appropriate wormer, external parasite, and cocci prevention, hooves trimmed, and are 100% ready to go. Due to the stresses of transport and shipping, I can offer no health guarantees after they have left our farm.
When any of our Susurrare Salix kids is awarded a title, star, or championship, please let us know!! We will announce it on our facebook page and here on our webpage with reference to you and a link to your farm (if provided)- we love to hear of our kids' achievements!!
FYI: Sale Pending does NOT mean SOLD. Sale Pending simply means that a someone has expressed interest in that particular animal, and "the check is in the mail", a deposit may or may not have been (or be) made. If you are interested in an animal that is listed as "Sale Pending", let me know and I will follow up with you IF the pending status falls through.
On the date of Transport:
The animal will receive a hoof trimming. The transporter and I will visually inspect the animal prior to loading to ensure the animal is in good health. I will take pictures of the animal the day of transport. When the animal leaves the farm with a transporter, I will contact you as soon as they depart to let you know they are on their way. Once the animal is loaded for transport, the care and health of the animal are transferred completely to the new owner/transporter. I am not liable for any injury or mistreatment of the animal while in the care of the transporter -- I maintain the right to refuse to allow the animal to be transported up to and including the moment the animal is to be loaded. If this should ever occur, I will contact the buyer immediately to inform them of the reason(s) for my refusal and to offer alternate transport or a full refund of the purchase price.
I am always available after the sale for further questions! Please contact me if you need anything or have any questions.
