John Henry, named for a racehorse that was famous for being one of the best come-from-behind or "Closer" horses in history, was inducted in to the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame and was ranked #23 in the top 100 US Thoroughbred Champions of the 20th Century. In short, John Henry was known for bringing the hammer down to win nearly 6.5 million dollars during his racing career. Much like our John Henry, the racehorse was also known to be very intelligent and to have a difficult personality. In spite of his surly demeanor, John is a favorite here, producing cookie-cutter kids that show improvement in dairy character, rump structure, and general appearance over their dams.
John's kids are consistently beautiful; therefore, I have resolved to retain as many as possible. :)
Daughters that have earned milk stars: Susurrare Salix J Leia Organa *M, Susurrare Salix J Desert Orchid 2*M
Also, 3 daughters (Flat Rock's Dot Com, Flat Rock's Geisha, and Flat Rock's Diamond Rio) have placed first in their classes and gone on to win Reserve Junior Grand Champion in 2014 & 2015. I expect many more accolades from his progeny in the future.
